Toolve / About
Toolve is seven small browser tools for narrow, professional jobs — built and maintained by one person, funded by advertising, and built so that nothing you open is uploaded — the page has no server to send it to, and the advertising scripts on it never see your files.
Each tool does one job on one page:
There is no account system, no dashboard, no subscription. The file you pick is read by your browser, processed there, and written back to your disk.
The trade-off is deliberate: tools that run in a tab are cheap to keep alive, so they can stay free, and there is no server holding anyone's documents — which is also why a few of them work offline after the first load.
An independent developer, working with electricians, drivers, crew schedulers, litigation support staff and family caregivers to get the fields, the rules and the edge cases right. Where a tool touches a regulation or a standard, the page names the edition it implements and the sources behind it, and says plainly what it does not cover.
Advertising on the pages that can carry it. That is the whole model: no paid tiers, no per-certificate fees, no upsell behind a link. A paid placement on a compliance page would make the whole site worth less than the fee, which is why the list under What we will not do is as short and as firm as it is.
There are three things that are genuinely useful to both sides, and they are all engineering work rather than marketing:
For a commissioned tool, the useful first email answers four things: what the job is, what the input looks like, what the output has to be, and which rule or standard governs it. Scope and price are agreed in writing before any work starts, and there is no retainer.
Bug reports and corrections go to the same address — see Contact for what helps us reproduce a problem. Usually answered within 2–3 working days.
Every tool on Toolve is client-side only: nothing is uploaded, and after the first load most tools work offline.
