Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026 · Effective: 28 October 2026

Toolve is a collection of small browser tools. This page explains, in plain language, what data the site touches, who else is involved, and what you can do about it.

The short version

What never leaves your device

Every tool on Toolve runs as JavaScript or WebAssembly inside the page you already loaded. Files you choose with a file picker (PDFs, spreadsheets, images, DAT files, and so on) are read through the browser's own file API, processed in memory, and turned into a download on your machine. They are not transmitted to us, because there is no server-side endpoint to receive them.

Because of that, we cannot see your files, cannot recover them for you, and cannot look inside them for support requests. If a tool fails, the most useful thing you can send us is the tool name, your browser and version, and what you expected to happen.

Some tools keep working after the first visit (offline or as an installed app). That copy is served from your browser's cache, not from us.

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand which tools are used and which break. It is configured to be deliberately limited:

Like any web request, the analytics request itself carries the information a server normally sees: an IP address, a user agent string and the page URL. We use that only in aggregate (how many visits, from which country, on which browser) and not to identify individual visitors.

Storage on your device

Toolve sets no advertising cookies of its own and no login cookies (there is no login). What we do store is a handful of entries in your browser's localStorage, which stays on your device and is readable only by this site:

WhatWhyLifetime
<tool>.prountil.v1Remembers that you unlocked a tool's exported/printable output, so you are not asked again7 days, then re-asked
Small preference keys (theme, last used mode, dismissed hints)Keeps a tool the way you left itUntil you clear site data
Offline cache / service workerLets some tools load with no networkUntil you clear site data

You can delete all of it at any time from your browser's site-data settings. Nothing breaks permanently — the entries are recreated on your next visit.

Advertising and cookies

Toolve is free and funded by advertising served through Google AdSense.

We do not receive, store or sell the advertising data Google collects; we only see aggregate reports such as total impressions and estimated revenue per page.

Server logs

The site is delivered by Cloudflare. As with any content delivery network, Cloudflare processes request metadata (IP address, requested path, user agent, timestamp) in order to serve and protect the site, and may keep short-lived security logs. We do not maintain our own access logs or visitor database.

Email you send us is kept in our mailbox so we can answer you, and is not added to any marketing list.

Children

Toolve is a set of general-purpose utilities. It is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA under the GDPR, the UK under the UK GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to be informed about, access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent to advertising cookies at any time.

In practice there is very little to act on: we hold no account records, and our analytics data is aggregate and not keyed to your identity. We still answer requests properly:

Retention

Aggregate analytics are kept for as long as they are useful for product decisions (currently up to 12 months on our analytics plan). Support email is kept while the thread is relevant. Anything stored in your browser stays until you clear it.

Some pages link to external sources — regulations, standards bodies, vendor documentation — so you can check a figure or a rule yourself. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and once you follow a link this policy no longer applies.

Changes

If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated. Material changes will be flagged on the page for at least 14 days. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.

Contact

Questions about this policy, or about data in general: hello@toolve.net. A correction to a tool's content is also welcome at the same address.

Every tool on Toolve is client-side only: nothing is uploaded, and after the first load most tools work offline.
